Lake Mburo National Park is a magical savanna safari park, straddling in Kiruhura, Isingiro and Mbarara districts Western Uganda. It is the most accessible wildlife safari park from Entebbe about 290kms, Kampala, about 240kms and 30kms from Mbarara city. Originally, this protected area served as a controlled hunting area since 1933 till 1963 when it became a game reserve and in 1983, it was gazetted as a national park.

Lake Mburo National Park extends up-to 260sq.kms of land which makes it one of the smallest Uganda safari parks. It takes its name from Lake Mburo and its vegetation is characterized by acacia woodland, savanna plains and open grassland. The park is also known for its beautiful forested gorges, lakes, rock kopjes, papyrus swamp that protect diversity of birdlife and wildlife making it one of the best Uganda wildlife safari destinations.

Lake Mburo National Park protects about 70 mammal species, most of which can easily be spotted given its small size.
